Backup fails for VMs with large storage

Symptoms 

1. Backups failed with the error in SolusVM 2

   PRODUCT_ERROR: upload failed, backup is corrupted: failed to compress: read /var/lib/libvirt/images/5/078b1b355456cd20b494e29fb4ad9ded: input/output error

2. VM has relatively large storage

Cause

Backup timeout due to low network speed and large size of transferred data

Resolution

Step 1: Increase backup timeout 

1. connect to CR via SSH 
2. Open file /etc/solus/agent.json in text editor

3. Modify the line:

   CONFIG_TEXT: backup_create_timeout_hours: 0,

   to:

   CONFIG_TEXT: backup_create_timeout_hours: 16,

4. Restart solus-agent:

# systemctl restart solus-agent

Note: restart solus-agent when there are no running tasks o on CR only

Step 2: Increase outgoing network speed on CR or incoming network speed on backup node.
