Not possible to select options in SolusVM installer on Almalinux OS

Symptoms 

  • Not possible to select options in SolusVM installer on Almalinux OS:

  • The OS of the server is AlmaLinux 8.

Cause

The incorrect installer is being used (for CentOS 7 instead of the AlmaLinux 8 installer).

Resolution

  1. Log in to the AlmaLinux server via SSH.
  2. Use the AlmaLinux 8 installer as per documentation:

    # curl -o installer https://files.soluslabs.com/solusvmphp7/install/installer && chmod +x installer && ./installer
