Symptoms 

  • Unable to update SolusVM Node with the following error:

    # upcp 2
    ...
    Resolving files.soluslabs.com (files.soluslabs.com)... failed: Name or service not known.
    wget: unable to resolve host address ‘files.soluslabs.com’
    gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
    /bin/tar: Child returned status 1
    /bin/tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
    ...

Cause

Nameservers misconfiguration.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the SolusVM Node via SSH.
  2. Add nameservers to the file /etc/resolv.conf:

    # echo "nameserver 8.8.4.4" >> /etc/resolv.conf
    # echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" >> /etc/resolv.conf
