What is the difference between a file-based snapshot and a thin-LVM snapshot in SolusVM 2?

Answer

In the case of a file-based image, SolusVM 2 creates a so-called "VM state snapshot" using libvirt tools. And the VM state info is stored inside the VPS image itself.

And in the case of thinLVM, SolusVM 2 creates a so-called "disk snapshot" using lvm tools. Another logical volume is created for storing the snapshot.
