Is it possible to match CPU model of SolusVM VPS to CPU of host node?

Is it possible to match the CPU model of SolusVM VPS to the CPU of the host node?

Answer

Yes, it is possible:

1. Login to SolusVM administrator area.

2. Open Virtual Servers > VPS > Settings > CPU.

   Changing CPU model

   

3. In Model list select host-model or host-passthrough.

   Option details

   Host-passthrough - with this option host CPU is emulated/passed to VPS without any modifications, making this option best for performance, however, VPS will be "bound" to this specific CPU, breaking VPS if it was migrated to a host-node with a different CPU.

   Host-model - matches host CPU with a predetermined list of CPU configuration, making it compatible for another host in case of migration, but providing slightly lesser performance gain.

4. Click Save.

5. Reboot VPS via Virtual Servers > VPS > Reboot.
