Symptoms

  • The OS name is shown inside the VPS instead of the hostname in SolusVM.
  • The Configure Networking option is unchecked at the template settings page SolusVM > Media > List Templates > edit (edit_button.PNG).

Cause

Template misconfiguration - the hostname is set inside the VPS when the Configure Networking option is enabled.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the SolusVM admin panel.
  2. Navigate to Media > List Templates > edit (edit_button.PNG).
  3. Tick the Configure Networking option on the template settings page:

  4. Click the Re-Configure button on the VPS manage page (SolusVM > Virtual Servers > VPS):
