Provisioning of VPS with Debian 10 guest OS fails in SolusIO

Symptoms 

Provisioning of VPS with Debian 10 guest OS fails in SolusIO. There is vm-create task with the error:

SVM_ERROR: failed to download image from "https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/openstack/current-10/debian-10-openstack-amd64.qcow2" to "/var/lib/libvirt/images": cannot calculate size of the file: cannot calculate total size for "https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/openstack/current-10/debian-10-openstack-amd64.qcow2": server returns non 200 status code: '404' status code

Cause

The name of qcow2 image has been changed by Debian developers https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/openstack/current-10/

Resolution

Update SolusIO to get valid image URL using instructions from this article.

If the issue still persists, update OS image properties manually:

1. Log into SolusIO admin area
2. Browse to Images > Operating Systems
3. Click on Debian OS group and edit icon against Debian 10 name

   

4. Change URL to the following http://images.dev.solusvm.com/solus.io-debian-10.qcow2
5. After that re-install VPS using updated Debian 10 template
